Job Announcement

The Association of Buddhists for the Environment (ABE) is an organization that involves monks from all 23 provinces in Cambodia working to strengthen the Sangha (the community of Buddhist monks and nuns) in its efforts to protect the environment. Now we are seeking for three qualified Cambodian nationals to fulfill the positions as follows:

1. Project Officer for Environmental Education through Pagodas (based in Phnom Penh, with frequent travels to Kampong Chhnang)
Main Responsibilities: To assist Project Manager to:
- Plan and implement the project activities.
- Communicate with various stakeholders
- Prepare lesson plans and environmental education materials.
- Facilitate the trainings and take minutes.
- Monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Budgeting and budget management
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field (Agriculture/Education preferred).
- At least one-year experience in community facilitation.
- Proficiency in English communication (verbal and writing).
- Knowledge of pedagogy and environment.
- Willing to travel and stay in the pagoda.
- Computer literate (Ms. Word/Excel/ PowerPoint).

2- Project Assistant for Environmental Education through pagodas (based in Phnom Penh, with frequent travels to Bokor area in Kampot province)
Main Responsibilities: To assist Project Manager to:
- Facilitate the environmental education activities for the monks.
- Assist in preparing lesson plans and environmental education materials.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation activities.
- In-charge of preparation of training materials and other logistics.
- Write progress report and take minutes of the meeting
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or high school (Education preferred).
- At least one-year experience in community facilitation.
- Ability to work independently/or in a team.
- Proficiency in English communication (verbal and writing).
- Knowledge of environment and wildlife.
- Willing to travel and stay in the pagoda.
- Computer literacy (Ms. Word/Excel).

3- Accountant/Administrator: for ABE's office in Phnom Penh
Main Responsibilities: To assist general financial and administrative work for ABE
- Record into computer-based accounting system daily including cash advance, disbursement, and preparation of receipt, payment, and checks.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Ensure timely payment of staff salary payroll.
- Ensure proper documentation of all transaction and maintain files of all supporting documentation for accounting entries.
- Prepare, manage , classify and archive administrative documents (contracts, letters-in/out and other documents)
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in related field.
- At least 2 years experience in finance and administration work.
- Proficiency in English communication (Verbal and writing)
- Computer literacy (Ms. Word / Excel / QuickBooks / PowerPoint / Internet / Email)
